CSIR Motor (Single Phase)

“SINGLE PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR-CSIR MOTOR Single Phase Capacitor Start Induction Run (CSIR) Motors offered by Amber are a type of split phase motors which consists of a starting capacitor connected to the starting or auxiliary winding series through a centrifugal or electronic switch.

Features:
  • These motors can produce up to 4 times the rated load torque at startup, enabling them to drive high-inertia loads.
  • The main winding does not use a capacitor, which means that the motor’s efficiency at speed is still relatively low
  • Capacitor Start Induction Run (CSIR) is a type of Single-phase induction motor in which a capacitor is connected in series to start windings to maximize starting torque, as the motor comes up to speed, the relay removes the start winding and the start capacitor from the circuit then runs on the run winding alone
  • A single-phase electric motor uses a single-phase power supply to convert electric energy into mechanical energy.
  • It contains two wires (one hot wire and one neutral wire) and uses a single alternating voltage. Since it only generates an alternate field, it needs a capacitor for startup.
